About Lightspeed Dyno Service

Dean Thompson (owner/operator) has been riding street bikes since 1986 and has been motorcycle roadracing since 1999. He’s prepared many race bikes over the years and won several championships at the provincial level. In 2015, Dean purchased a Dynojet dyno off his bike tuner who was retiring from the dyno business. While still serving in the military (until 2022), Dean only used the dyno for personal race bike tuning, but after retiring from the Canadian Armed Forces, decided to open his shop to the public. He invested in all the latest hardware and software that Dynojet produces to upgrade the dyno, received Dynojet Power Commander certification training, and opened Lightspeed Dyno Service as a business in 2023.

Improve Performance With Technology

Motorcycles are designed to turn fuel into fun. How that happens is getting more complicated every year. Modern bikes are designed to make power while meeting increasingly strict emissions standards. Manufacturers are pretty good at that, but there is plenty of room for improvements. This is where dyno tuning comes in. Any modifications made to the motorcycle can be seen in real time on the dyno graph, showing gains (or losses) of power and torque, as well as any changes to the air/fuel mixture percentages. It’s best to get dyno testing done before doing performance work and adding upgrades to a motorcycle (known as a baseline dyno run). After modifications are made, the motorcycle can then go back on the dyno to see what was gained.

Benefits of Dyno Tuning:

Increased Rideability

Maximize Horsepower & Torque

Quicker Acceleration

Longer Engine Life

Better Fuel Economy

Improved Throttle Response

Thanks again for everything”
